It started in the late 1920s, kids in Harlem figuring out how to
move to this hot new music called Jazz. By the 30's there were all
kinds of it, and all kinds of ways you could dance to it. By the
1940s, jazz was our music, and swing was our dance.

It might be hoppin' like crazy, flyin' like Lindy, or
smooth like syncopated silk.
So come on out on the floor, get connected, motivate those pedal extremities,

Swing dancing covers a lot of musical territory, from
the big-bands to rythym and blues to rock and roll. Count Basie,
Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw,
Peggy Lee, Dinah Washington, Nat King Cole, Louis Prima, Frank, Dean,
Elvis, 50s Rock & Roll, Lou Rawls, BBVD,
and a hundred other artists new and old. |
